Privacy at a glance

PocketBI is designed around local-first data work. In the iPhone app, files you import for cleaning, transformation, and visualization are processed on your device during normal use. PocketBI does not sell personal information and does not use imported datasets for targeted advertising.

Files and datasets in the iPhone app

CSV, Excel, and other supported data that you choose to open in PocketBI are processed locally on your device for the app's analysis features. The contents of those imported files are not routinely transmitted to PocketBI servers as part of the normal import, clean, transform, or chart workflow.

You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to use the data you import.

On-device and browser storage

PocketBI may store app settings, project state, preferences, recent workflow information, or similar data locally on your device or in browser storage so the product can function and remember your choices. Removing the app or clearing browser storage may remove locally stored information.

Website and web workspace

When you visit pocketbi.app, standard web infrastructure may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, browser type, device information, request metadata, and timestamps. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process this information on PocketBI's behalf.

The PocketBI web workspace is designed to keep supported file-processing workflows in your browser whenever possible. If a feature requires server-side processing, that feature may transmit the information needed to provide it.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases made in the PocketBI iPhone app are processed by Apple through the App Store. PocketBI Web subscriptions are processed through Stripe Checkout. PocketBI does not receive your full payment-card number from either provider.

PocketBI receives and stores the purchase, customer, subscription, billing-status, and entitlement information needed to associate access with a PocketBI ID, unlock or revoke paid capabilities, restore or synchronize access, prevent billing-state errors, and provide support. Payment providers process payment information under their own privacy terms.

Accounts and online services

PocketBI ID, web billing, Business organizations, API access, connected applications, and support features may require account information such as an email address and operational metadata needed to provide and secure the requested service. PocketBI uses service providers for functions such as authentication, hosting, billing, and app distribution.

Signing into PocketBI ID does not by itself upload the spreadsheet or dataset currently open in a local workspace. Features that explicitly use a server, Business integration, or connected source may transmit the information needed to perform that requested operation.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

PocketBI does not use the contents of imported datasets for advertising. The current PocketBI workflow is not designed around cross-app tracking. If analytics, diagnostics, or advertising practices materially change, this policy and the relevant App Store privacy disclosures will be updated.

Data sharing

PocketBI may use service providers for website hosting, infrastructure, authentication, app distribution, payment processing, and support. These providers process information as needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a legally permitted business transfer.

Data retention and deletion

Data stored only on your device remains under your control and can generally be removed by deleting local projects, clearing browser storage, or uninstalling the app. Account, billing, entitlement, Business, security, or support records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, satisfy legal or accounting obligations, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or support legitimate business needs. Contact support for applicable account or privacy requests.

Children

PocketBI is a general-purpose data productivity tool and is not directed toward children. PocketBI does not knowingly use children's personal information for targeted advertising.

Security

PocketBI uses reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the services it provides. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as PocketBI adds products or changes how features work. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.
